Who We Are

We’re Justin and Megan, the duo behind Lakes of Steel. With over 20 years in metal manufacturing and leadership (Justin) and a matching number of years in business administration and accounting (Megan), we’ve combined our skills to build something we love. We live in small-town USA with our three kids, enjoying the slower pace of life that lets us focus on what matters—family, friends, and, of course, the lake.

Our passion for the lake runs deep. Whether it’s days spent on the water, nights by the fire, or making memories with the people we love, we wanted to capture those moments in a way that lasts. Over the years, we’ve been giving away these custom metal lake pieces as gifts, and now we’re excited to share them with a wider audience.

When we’re not at our kids’ sporting events or in the shop creating these works of art, you can find us at our favorite place on Earth—Leech Lake, MN—soaking in everything that makes lake life so special

The Crew

Meet the crew—Hunter, Jackson, and Darcee. These three bring more to the table than just their love for the lake. When they’re not surfing, fishing, or perfecting their s’more-making skills, they’re right in the mix helping us run the business. Whether it’s staining wood, assembling products, packaging and fulfilling orders, or jumping into some design work, they’ve got a hand in it all. Their passion for the lake shows in every piece we create, making them an essential part of our team. And yes, they’re just as hooked on lake life as we are!
